CEDIA is inviting interior designers, architects, and other design and build professionals to its CPD breakfast event, Tech X Design. The free event takes place on September 4 (having been moved from its original March 31 date), at the Business Design Centre, London.

Running between 08:00-10:00, it will feature a presentation of CEDIA’s Designing Home Cinemas and Media Room CPD. Accredited by both the British Institute of Interior Design (BIID), and Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), the CPD is designed to help design and build professionals understand how to help clients choose and specify rooms, as well as the design principles needed for a dedicated entertainment space.

The CEDIA 2018 UK Size and Scope survey revealed that the UK home technology market is worth around £700m and is seeing a rise in demand for dedicated entertainment spaces, with home cinema  demand increasing by 9 per cent.

Obviously, these dedicated spaces need professional design to perform well. This CPD will allow attendees to discover how to work together with a home technology integrator to achieve a smart home project, without compromising on design.

The breakfast event is the first of three planned for this year. An education-oriented events, will feature contributions from the top manufacturers in the audio-visual, lighting, home control, and wider technology industry.

The breakfast event will also offer delegates the opportunity to visit stands at the CEDIA Tech Summit and discover some of the products and solutions available on the market today, and network with professionals from across the industry.

The full agenda for the Tech X Designs:
08:00-08:30  Arrival and continental breakfast
08:30-09:30  CEDIA CPD: Designing Home Cinemas and Media Rooms
09:30-10:00  Tech Summit floor tour and product demonstrations
