Stunning Harley-Davidson Manchester showroom is well worth a road trip

Architecture  CTD Tiles  Retail  Harley Davidson

An iconic brand synonymous with design, Harley-Davidson demands appropriate attention to detail when it comes to the design of its showrooms. It fell to Focus Architecture and Surveying, and CTD Architectural Tiles, to deliver its second Harley Davidson showroom in Manchester.

No two Harley-Davidson showrooms look exactly the same. The client’s brief requested that the overall design incorporated elements that reflected the local area, while sticking to the industrial aesthetic that the brand is renowned for worldwide.

CTD hit just the right note with a range of wall and floor tiles that evoked the brand’s gritty character; and they proved practical too. So how exactly did CTD and Focus get Harley on the road?

Ideal for heavy traffic areas, large format Boom Piombo 750 x 750mm concrete look tiles were selected for the main showroom floor. Suitable for heavy loading areas, the coloured body porcelain tiles were the perfect choice for the standout motorcycle display area.

Chosen for their wearability and anti-slip properties, Treverkway Quercia wood effect floor tiles were installed throughout the clothing area, bringing an on-trend aesthetic to the space.

For a strong visual impact, the architect opted for four oversized sheet metal tiles for the walls behind the reception desk. The Ariostea 3000 x 1000mm Ultra Metal Blue Zinc tiles add a unique touch to the showroom’s design, while remaining sympathetic to the industrial aesthetic of the space.

Completing the raw appeal of the garage, CTD Architectural’s Terramix Nero brick-effect tiles were chosen as an alternative to a costly brick-slip for the interior walls.

The overall retail space is both beautiful to look at, and entirely on-brand. Blending the authentic feel of the all-American roadsters with the raw appeal of concrete, brick, wood and metal effect tiles, the CTD Architectural Tiles specification team delivered a space that impresses in both finish and practicality.

Even if you're not in the market for an iconic Harley-Davidson motorcycle, this Manchester dealership is well worth a retail design road trip. And you might just be inspired to ride one home.
